English Friends Programme

What makes our courses different?

This programme is designed for students of English who would like a more language intensive experience. English friends join the overseas students for a minimum of 15 hours per week. Students on our English Friends programme speak a lot more English than on other standard courses through their interaction with local teenagers:

• Get to know your English friends sessions

• Communication games

• Communication oriented activities and excursions

• Morning lessons with an English friend

Deva’s English language courses are enriched by a cultural exchange with the friendly residents of Chester.

The city of Chester lends itself to this type of interaction. Every year dozens of enthusiastic English teenagers join the overseas students on our English Friends programme. Together they enjoy the wide variety of activities that we offer and build long lasting friendships.

Chester is big enough to allow students to feel the buzz of visiting this popular tourist destination city whilst their leaders are reassured that they are in a secure environment. The many beautiful parks and the River Dee provide perfect locations for many of our activities.
